Margaret Kim


Margaret Kim brings over 25 years of finance experience in the life sciences industry. She’s been a growth capital and venture capital investor, CFO, board member, strategic advisor and investment banker.

Margaret Kim brings over 25 years of financial and operational experience as a dedicated partner to high growth, private and public life sciences companies in the biotech, specialty pharmaceuticals, medical device, diagnostics and digital health sectors.

Previously, Margaret was Executive Director at J.P. Morgan’s healthcare practice and earlier she was Senior Vice President at GE Capital where for over 16 years she led growth capital and venture capital investments into early- to late-stage private and public life sciences companies. There, she served as a strategic partner to the CEO, as a board member or interim CFO to her numerous portfolio companies. In these roles, Margaret was instrumental in designing strategic and financial growth plans, scaling companies and guiding and implementing capital raises and exits including private venture capital rounds, debt financings, IPOs, follow-ons, M&A, divestitures and restructurings.

Earlier, Margaret was a venture capitalist at a $500MM fund where she made direct investments and was involved in the formation of new companies through M&A, serving as the interim CFO and board member. Previously, Margaret was the first hired employee at Paladin Laboratories, a public specialty pharmaceutical company that was later sold for $3.2Bn to Endo Health. Margaret began her career as an investment banker at Salomon Brothers in New York City, working on IPOs and high yield debt offerings.

Margaret enjoys serving as an adjunct professor at Golden Gate University’s MBA program teaching Venture Capital & Startup Financing and probono work for nonprofit ventures.

Margaret received an MBA at Harvard Business School and BA at Clark University.
