Jean-Paul Lausell is a CFO with over 20 years of finance and operations leadership experience.

Prior to Burkland, Jean-Paul worked as a fractional or interim CFO for startups and growth-stage companies. Working alongside CEOs, founders and investors, Jean-Paul has been involved in all aspects of engaging investors, equity and debt transactions, investor relations, and board interaction. He has led finance, accounting, operations, sales, and marketing teams. His experience and skill set include finance operations, business planning, budgeting, long-term forecasting, dashboards, and reporting, as well as all phases of executing M&A transactions both on the buy and the sell-side. His strategic perspective is informed by both his years in Private Equity as well as his operational experience. While most of his clients have been technology and SaaS companies, he also has experience in consumer products and eCommerce.

Jean-Paul began his career as an Analyst at Trivest Partners and also worked as a Director at Black Dragon Capital, a Private Equity firm focused on fintech, media tech, and eCommerce SaaS.

Jean-Paul earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Political Science from Hunter College C.U.N.Y. with summa cum laude distinction. He also has an MBA from the Yale School of Management with a concentration in Finance.
