Bobby Carouthers brings extensive finance and operational leadership across both early-stage startups and venture capital. With deep experience on both sides of the table, Bobby has been a key player in raising funding rounds at multiple companies, including both Series A and B equity and venture debt, and has led financial diligence on over a dozen closed deals spanning AI, robotics, SaaS, biotech, logistics, and agriculture. He is comfortable taking a hands-on, tactical approach to complete projects and onboard new software and service providers while also bringing a strategic finance perspective to Board and strategy meetings.

Previously, as Head of Finance at A-Alpha Bio, Bobby joined as the first non-technical hire, managing all business aspects outside the lab, from putting together the first company handbook and financial models to supporting Series A fundraising, site relocation, and lab buildout in downtown Seattle. He negotiated millions in venture debt, drove strategic board discussions, and established the company’s foundational HR and IT infrastructure.

Earlier, as Head of Finance at Clara Foods, Bobby co-led a $40M Series B fundraise, secured $8M in venture debt, and implemented robust finance and HR systems that transformed the company’s operational efficiency from startup to scale-up.

In his current role, Bobby runs finance and operations for an early-stage VC firm that specializes in pairing startups with multinational corporations in Latin America. Bobby holds an MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler and is known for his ability to work collaboratively across domains and to institutionalize processes and best practices that fit the needs and resources of each company.
