Mike Kaswan runs our East Coast on-demand CFOs practice. He has over 25 years of experience as a senior finance executive, venture capital investor, chief executive officer and board member, working with rapidly growing companies in the healthcare and other industries.
Mike is passionate about entrepreneurship and business value creation, having conceived and written the business plans for two companies that achieved cash exits for a combined $1.4 billion, been a co-founder of a venture capital firm that raised over $290 million in investment capital and created and run a “start-up by acquisition” with over 200 employees.
Mike holds an MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Commerce with a Finance concentration from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.
Ron has over 30 years’ experience in financial and operations management for both emerging and established companies, primarily in life science and technology industries. As CFO for several early stage companies, he has worked closely with CEOs and Board Members to develop and implement financial strategies. Ron’s experience includes funding, financial modeling, M&A, financial reporting & controls, systems implementation, licensing, and international operations.
Ron has also managed HR, IT, legal, and manufacturing, and has taken companies through the FDA application process for new drugs, and assisted pharma, software and ed tech companies in M&A and public listings.
Ron earned an A.B. in Economics from Boston College, and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He qualified as a CPA (inactive) while with Arthur Andersen & Co., and served as a Supply Officer in the U.S. Navy.
Jon has over 25 years experience in finance and operations, offering clients insights gained as an investment banker on Wall Street, as a senior corporate executive oversight at a Fortune 500 company, and as CFO of businesses ranging from a global marketing technology company to a nascent medicinal cannabis business.
Jon has executed strategic and financing transactions as an advisor and as a corporate executive. Jon has a passion for teaming with CEOs to build great businesses through the development and execution of insightful strategic plans, realistic budgets/operating plans, fair incentive programs, good corporate governance and investor communications.
Jon holds a BA from Middlebury College and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Steven Lord has led, founded and managed companies in the financial technology, asset management and publishing sectors in Europe and in the United States. His 25-year career as an entrepreneur and senior executive in both public and private companies equips him with a deep understanding of strategic capital formation, financial modeling, operational efficiencies, restructuring and turnaround management, and M&A.
Steve has served as a senior consultant and interim CFO for companies across a broad range of sectors and sizes, bringing particular expertise with subscription-based business models (including SaaS) in the fintech, publishing and digital currency/blockchain industries to Burkland. Steve also has served as an expert witness for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and is active in disaster relief missions as a Civil Air Patrol liaison officer to FEMA’s Region II.
Steve holds a master’s degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Vermont.

His experience in strategy, finance & operations, growth planning, forecasting planning & analysis, fund raising, and financial models gives CEOs the cover they need to grow with confidence. His experience includes CFO roles at Fab.com, Waywire, Timedata, and Strategic CFO consulting to multiple other Companies across growth stages and verticals. Parm is a proven finance partner, helping CEOs build solid financial foundations and practices. Parm was also a VP of Strategic Planning at JP Morgan Chase and a VP of Innovation at Bank of New York Mellon.
Parm earned his MBA from Yale School of Management, MSc in Industrial Relations & Personnel Management from The London School of Economics, and BSc in Mathematics from UCLA.
