Leslie is an accomplished CFO/COO with proven success helping startups and mid-stage companies drive significant revenue growth, raise debt and equity, and achieve successful exits through acquisition.  She has significant experience in developing robust forecasting and budgeting models, creating critical dashboards to monitor key metrics, and balancing strategic decision making with day-to-day operations.

Before Burkland, Leslie was the CFO of two SaaS companies, Voxify and then Guardian Analytics, where she secured several rounds of venture capital, raised debt, established scalable financial models and controls, and oversaw HR, Legal, and Facilities.  Before this, Leslie was also the CFO of three smaller software and eCommerce companies, all of which were acquired. Prior to Leslie’s shift to start-ups, she took Vanstar, a $3B hardware and professional services provider, public as their VP, Finance, and Controller, and also ran US Revenue Accounting for Oracle.

Most recently, Leslie jumped into the education/not-for-profit industry as the COO of The Athenian School for 5 years, where she managed a $24M construction project, built the strategic HR support function for employee relations, and helped lead the school to its strongest financial performance in over 20 years.

Leslie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Stanford University and received her CPA (now expired) while working at KPMG in San Francisco for 7 years.  While not working, Leslie spends quality time with her family, and anxiously awaits the time when we can all travel again.
