The Role

We are seeking a talented Tax Compliance Associate who is passionate about tax compliance and helping startups navigate complex tax regulations. As a Tax Compliance Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our clients’ compliance with local and state tax laws. You’ll have the opportunity to leverage your tax expertise to minimize tax liability and provide valuable insights to our clients.

Your Typical, Atypical, Day

  • Ensure compliance with all local and state laws by accurately determining the tax compliance issues, preparing and filing annual reports, franchise tax returns, property tax returns, and local tax compliance filings.
  • Keep tax liability at a minimum by leveraging deductions, exemptions, and high-level knowledge of tax laws.
  • Educate team members and clients on forthcoming policy changes, technical financial concepts, and best practices.
  • Maintain comprehensive tax records and financial data for institutional use and audits.
  • Meet strict deadlines to avoid late fees and penalties.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of tax returns for businesses.
  • Conduct thorough research on tax laws, regulations, and guidelines to ensure compliance and identify tax-saving opportunities.

About You

  • Minimum 2 years of overall tax consulting experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, financial data, and analytics.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable tax codes, laws, and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage time effectively.
  • Exposure to Start-up accounting and tax processes.
  • Public accounting experience – highly preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Word, expert-level Excel, Slack, and the capacity to quickly learn new software.
  • Associate’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (ex: CPA in the United States)

The base pay range target for the role described in this job description is $60,000 – $75,000. Final offer amounts depend on multiple factors such as candidate experience and expertise, geographic location, total compensation, and market data. In addition, full-time regular positions are eligible for, 401(k), health benefits, and other benefits; some of these benefits may be available for part-time.
